Did Mirai botnet use Directv DVR's

Did the recent Mirai botnet attacks use Directv DVR's? And if so, what steps should DVR owners or Directv do to prevent it?
 
I understand that you have to have allowed a phishing attack for the botnet to get into your system. Then it would use any of your devices.

All anyone would need to due is look at the traffic that went through their router....No?
