Digital Subchannels

is D* planning on adding all of the digital sub channels for all the local TV networks in the nation when the DTV transition is complete or will the main stations remain.

This is one reason why I have OTA. Our DMA doesn't yet have the locals in SD!!

There are too many subchannels for DirecTV to deliver them all, and given the content of many of the subchannels it would be a waste of bandwidth. Remember each one takes the same space on DirecTV as any other SD channel. I bet some of the subchannels here in DFW have an extremely small audience (I saw some numbers suggesting averaging less than 100 for some of them).

I hear ya. Water to the South, HD locals to the East, HD to the North, HD to the West but not even an SD channel in the Panama City, FL. DMA (and Dothan is lower than us!).
