Direct tv HD DVR Gennie 34 Series Manager Setup ?

For the 400th time... there is no "NEW" flag like on whatever Tivo interface you're used to. To see if a show is new, look at the first aired date as instructed earlier. Not all shows have this information provided.
This information is not from Directv, but from Tribune. If you like Tivo, get the Directv TV Receiver, not a Genie. Hutch1814, do you still have any beer left from like three days ago. When all this started...

Genie is an HR34 and is strictly a Directv High Def DVR. A TiVo is an THR22 and is a TiVo/Directv High Def DTV. The THR22 (TiVo) is the same software and platform people have used for years from TiVo. The THR22 (TiVo) is completely different than the HR34 (Genie)
Hutch1814 I got the TiVo/Directv High Def DTV in a upgraded deal which is better the TiVo/Directv High Def DTV or THR22 (TiVo) from Direct tv ?

My Directv Genie HR34-700 is acting strange My Set up is first run only all episodes keep until what it dose is keeps recording repeats when it should not and the other thing it dose is when it dose record a new show and their is the next new show it dose not record at all maybe this Directv Genie HR34-700 is messed up for me should I ask to have replaced ever hear of this ?

Sometimes the information in the guide isn't correct and the dvr will record something it shouldn't or doesn't record something it should.
which has only been mentioned like 12 times in the thread yet the OP doesnt want to listen
I have had a HR34 for almost 18 months now and the only time it records a non first time recording is when
-there is no episode date
-I have it set to record all
-if its a new recording that you have just set up. sometimes the previous shows (like within the last week or so) will record to "get ya caught up" on episodes
I dont have any issues recording new episodes....and have a bunch of series set up
Iceberg when you say -there is no episode date on the GUIDE which saya New for new episodes what is your set up for recording ?
If there is no episode info it will record it REGARDLESS of setting. If its set to "First Run", "repeats" or "Both" it will record it
Pretty much all my shows are set for "1st run only" except for a couple older shows that do not have any new ones so I record the reruns of it

Ring of Honor wrestling is on twice a weekend here in Minneapolis. Its the SAME show both times (Saturday night and late Sunday night). As you can see in the 1st pic there is NO episode info and at the bottom it clearly says "all first run episodes are set to record" yet the 2nd pic you see all 4 shows are set to record....again due to NO EPISODE INFO
2nd set is American Restoration. Again just first run episodes are set to record. 3rd pic shows a first run date and its not set to record. 4th pic has NO episode date and its set to record even though I've seen that episode a few times. It is not a new episode yet due to no date it will record
