Direct TV - Marina Application

I purchased a small marine satellite antenna that I can mount to my dock post or to any railing on the boat. What I don't seem to be able to acquire legally is a receiver and a programming package that will allow me to use the system six months a year and shut it down when winter comes and we store the boat for the winter. Every package seems to require two years of continuous use and if interrupted requires a significant penalty payment.

Any suggestions?

I believe that you are able to suspend service for up to six months at a time. The commitment period will probably be extended by the amount of time the account is suspended, however.

I'd call DirecTV and inquire about this. I think it would be the same as people using DirecTV in an RV.
