I am in the northern Yucatan Pinensula. My Canadian friends get Shaw, at a reduced signal level but with satisfactory pictures most of the time. Can I bring my US reciever down here and expect to get even 75% signal? We are only 20 miles from the gulf coast. What size dish would I need?

:welcome to Satelliteguys!

I doubt you could get a big enough dish to get anything near reliable reception that far south. If you check the satmaps link at the top of the page, look at the CONUS maps for Directv 101. The signals simply don't go that far south.

I am located in Acapulco using a 2.4 M fiberglass dish and a legacy lnb with a 8X multiswitch running 6 boxes. Getting most transponders from 101. Going to try SWM in Feb.

If you can get 101 that far south, then I suspect reception on the Yucatan is possible.
