Specifically the Fox Sports regional networks. They appear to be broad casted in HD according to NHL.com and the Directv guide which indicates the feed is available but Directv doesn't carry it, only the SD.
I've noticed this with the Stars (FS-SW), Blue Jackets(FS-O) and Predators(FX-TNN). Even tonite, FS-O isn't even carrying the Columbus game at all! Instead, they chose to air AHL hockey, the San Antonio Rampage @ Lake Erie Monsters. Don't even tell me it's because it's a home game?
What is going on with the NHL and TV? Are bad economic climates putting a stranglehold on TV networks ability to provide consistent sports HD content?
