Thanks Scott. I sure wish they'd get Norfolk locals up considering my move is in 90 days. I'm gonna hate to look at SD or Cox Cable. One thing that may help is the striek I guess. May not be any real new programming in 2008

Wow, that Nascar Hot Pass deal sounds sweet. Is that a typo?! Only $40 for the whole year? When would this go into effect? As of right now, I'm seeing 4 payments of $22.25 on D*'s website for Hot Pass. Any more clarification on this deal? Thanks.

I think I posted that, now I cannot find where I saw it for $40, I too went to the email link that they sent today and it said 4 payments of 22.25.

Sorry,
I'll post back if I find where I saw that.
Maybe I mis read it.

Do you have an account with DirecTv now? If so you can check your options online...

Yes, I do but I am an international customer with the basic english pack and my locals from Houston where I "moved" to get. I have no way of getting on line for most things because the web site always says : Being an international customer call this number to change programming etc. I could just call and ask I guess.

So the slimline dish would be needed? If so would Directv come out and install it if I wanted these locals and would they charge me for the upgrade?

If you need the Ka/Ku dish then DirecTV will come out and install it plus give you one H20/21 for free... you'd have to pay for extra receivers to have locals on other TVs.

Below is a recap of recent and planned launches. (Note: Subject to Change)

It looks like DirecTV was also able to get the Beaumont-Port Arthur ABC station on board for the LiL launch today, so I would guess that as each market is turned on in the coming weeks we may see some surprise additions to the channel line-ups. Also, as far as TBN, DirecTV has a contract that specifies that the National channel trumps the local channel. DirecTV has a similar contract with Ion.

Plus start the 24 month commitment clock over again.

This I do not know about, but in past LiL upgrades (where you had to go to a 3 LNB dish or the second dish for the 72.5 satellite) the upgrade was without commitment. I would think this is true again, but I'll have to see if I can find that out.

Any contract that contradicts Federal or State law is unenforceable or moot. Scrutinize is all I ask. No contract can break a Federal or State law. Sorry for those who think they can make contracts that can, but you will be sorry in court.

I can't pass up the Nascar Deal for 40$, usually not into it that much, but just can't pass up the great deal.
DTV is moving the right way, and the good deals keep coming!

Thats because nobody in their right mind is going to pay $80 for crappy camera views, when the race is televised anyway. I'm not sure its worth $40.Maybe $20!

At least they are going all the way with the HD this year.
In car cameras and the Hot Pass stuff too.
Now, if they would give you the race with out commercials, then you would find more subbing to it, also if the gave you the choice of screen sizes, I hate the 3 screens because none are large enough.
