Maybe I did not see it in the article, but wonder if it will stay exclusive? Or open to streaming options in the future?

Looks like it will stay exclusive.... the NFL likes the $1.5 billion payout from DIRECTV, even though DIRECTV does not seem to want to pay it anymore...

But a contract is a contract.

Yeah they are going to have some serious issues raising the 1.5 billion on their own.

Directv on the other hand can’t afford to loose the subscribers over not having an exclusive

With declining subs, and the Sunday Ticket apparently not pulling them in like it used to, that cost per sub is going to become breathtaking.

I'll bet they make most of their money on commercial side, and no one is cord cutting at a bar or restaurant.

It will be interesting to see what happens with NFLST after the current contract after the 2022 season. Will the NFL be able to get that much money from multiple non exclusive partners, or will AT&T win another exclusive where Directv is the only cable/satellite provider with it but they also offer it as a standalone streaming offering?

I'm thinking that while yes it will remain with D* thru the contract, it will be offered to the masses after the contract ends, however, I see D* keeping the ST as well (at a MUCH lower cost).

His point was a way to Keep some of the money, as those establishments aren't going anywhere.

All the different companies that MIGHT jump in to the ST are not going to amount to the 1.5 they make guaranteed from D/ATT.

Commercial rates are based on maximum occupancy of the business. Last year, a season of NFL ST could go from $800 to upwards of $40K.

Generally speaking Sunday Ticket runs as little as $500 for a bar that has less than 50 people.

Average bill I see is between $2500 and $5000.

As a dealer I get 10-12% of that when it renews every year.

I hate the NFL, but love it for Sunday Ticket.

I get a nice pay out from September through January every year depending if the customer does 1 pay or 5 pay.

I got Greektown casino as one of my clients, I think their Sunday Ticket renews at $20,000

They are about to add a week to the schedule but keep the number of games the same...18 weeks but only 16 weeks worth of games....maybe they will dump the useless thursday night games

They are also talking about going to 18 games but only allowing players to play in 16 of the 18 each year as a way to address injuries. If they do that it will add inventory to NFLST. Otherwise spreading the season across 18 weeks instead of 17 means even fewer NFLST games.
