Dish Bankruptcy - Business as Usual

There is no Fiber with centurylink at my home location also there is no Quantem Fiber at my location. Both are saying it is comming. There is Xfinty home internet since comcast has cable wired to the house. They all have autopay get $10 off. There is Starlink i am not sure if you get rain and snow will it work in this frozen tundra minnesota.

centurylink 80g speed that i have works okay. No problem when i watched football with netflix once. Only amazon Thursday games i had problems. In the world of televison viewing Echostar Dish Network is hard to beat by any rival.
The package i have $88 for americas 250. Simple to operate the receiver and fast.
I've had Starlink since beta and only lost service during a very heavy wet snow where the heating function couldn't keep up and occasionally during torrential downpours. It's been very reliable.

So Charlie wants to buy back his own bankrupt company

Under the plan submitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas in Houston, Dish Wireless intends to sell "substantially all" of its assets to EchoStar as the stalking horse bidder or to "any party that submits a bid determined to be higher or better than EchoStar's proposal."

So from the left pocket(Dish wireless) to the right pocket(EchoStar).

Considering how many subscribers they lost during his tenure, this is not a surprise-

EchoStar Capital CEO Hamid Akhavan, who also served as president and CEO of Hughes Satellite Systems, has left the building.

Akhavan was appointed CEO and president of EchoStar in March 2022, succeeding Michael Dugan, who retired after more than 30 years at EchoStar and its predecessors. Akhavan became CEO of EchoStar Capital in 2025 after a corporate restructuring.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, I was in a location where I had 3 bars of 5G but couldn't use my Boost for internet access. It could have been a local tower issue, or maybe there were too many AT&T customers ahead of my Boost device in the Queue for connectivity. Mrs. Foxbat seemed to have better luck with her T-Mobile, so I may be switching over to them.

I think a lot of the roaming gaps are usually covered by smaller regional carriers (Viaero, Cellcom, etc) rather than direct deals between the majors.

A lot of these specifics aren't typically public and Phones/OS also don't reliably surface what network you're actually roaming on.

Personally I'm one layer of inception further in - Google Fi. So I'm usually on TMobile, but get the benefits of all their agreements.

AFAIK Verizon has no roaming partners anymore, they think their network is so good they don't need them, or the population of the area is so miniscule they don't care (see above; great roaming with TMO in Four Corners, VZW had no service at all). Verizon actually yanked towers down from parts of rural Missouri several years ago.

Opposite with me in Western NC. T-Mobile is non-existent in these parts.

Connecting to a non-Verizon network while roaming
