DISH Hopper H 711 software version

Yeah, still happens with the Logitech Harmony One. But I still see 711 is still the most current loaded

I have read from some users on here where they have to periodically press a button on their IR universal remote to keep the IR receiver active on the Dish Hopper 3 so that it works with IR. I can duplicate a similar issue with my Dish Hopper 3 and my Sofabaton X2 universal remote.

Whenever I shutdown my system after using the OEM Dish remote my Sofabaton X2 universal remote will successfully shut down my LG TV and my Denon AVR. However the Dish Hopper 3 does not shut down, but if I press the 'Power Off' button on the Sofabaton X2 universal remote several times (8-9-ish times) then it seems to wake up the IR receiver on the Dish Hopper 3 and it does turn off.

We have all observed that there is a problem with the IR code reception and processing on the Dish Hopper 3 since the H711 firmware upgrade, but at least now I can consistently shut it off via 8-9-ish button presses on my Sofabaton X2 universal remote. Hopefully this will aid the Dish technical support team in their quest to fix this issue.

Yep, that's me. As long as I remember to do my "trained monkey" routine and tap the View button on my Pronto Pro universal remote about every 15 minutes to pop the top banner, it keeps the IR receiver in my Hopper 3 "awake". If I forget and go 45-60 minutes without tapping the View button, then I have to tap the View button anywhere from 5-44 times (44 is my new high-water mark ) to get the top banner to pop.

This issue never existed prior to H711 and I've had my Hopper 3 for at least 4 years, maybe 5 years. So whatever H711 was intended to "fix", it broke something that is obviously very important to a number of us. And I'm sure we can't be the only people to have been affected by the IR issue that H711 introduced. So, can't H711 please be rolled back to whatever was before it (H710 or whatever?) so that this issue can be remedied?

I got version 712 yesterday. I can confirm that it does not fix the no sound with dolby digital selected during 4K HDR events on the Hopper 3.

I have narrowed my audio drop out occurrs more when I have channel 138 (TNT) on. I would have to change to another channel and then back to get it working.

You have to give the powers that be a little time to find the cause and to install the fix. I wouldn't expect it before 713 or 714.

I downloaded and installed H712 on my Dish Hopper 3 this morning and the previous issues with IR codes not working from universal remotes is still an issue.
