I mean, no matter how inaccurate the investigations are, and how much of a crock the technologies shown are, are they really needed? After all, everyone confesses to whatever they did in the last 50 seconds of every episode anyway.

ROFLMAO! How true. My favorite is the infinite resolution cameras (tm) they all seem to have. Reading the license plate of a car from the reflection in a guy's sunglasses taken by an ATM camera. LOL! Kinda makes Star Trek look downright realistic.
