Depends on many factors my friend, bad install experience can make the usage experience a nightmare. It is all in the equipment and requirements for said equipment that means a good install = a happy customer.
I meant to say, "not the installer's installation experience". ;) If the installer can't install the system properly because the hardware requirements make it more complex, then they shouldn't be installing them. Burn. :D

My installer has done some DirecTV installs and he has told the installs can be much easier. I'm not talking about installs though, I'm talking about how well they work and the features they have. I think it's been talked about a lot that Dish has some of the best receivers out there especially with DVR. I'm not saying DirecTV has crap receivers, I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I do hear more people talk about enjoying Dish's receivers more.

Don't forget that Dish has the dual tuner and DirecTV does not. That has always been one of the cheapest two room solutions for customers and the majority of our customers are still set up that way.

Well, it sure looks like AT&T and Dish have greater reason to strike a deal- Verizon's huge bandwidth acquisition from the cablecos.
