Where do you find a microcell?We used the 3g version for years until it died about 2 years ago.WI fi calling is ok but I find we have to check each time we come home to make sure it's turned on again.

Are you referring to a femtocell? If so, you can likely get one from your carrier.
I"ll admit I haven't researched in a while but ATT told me when mine died that they weren't selling them anymore .They were switching to wifi calling.
The problem is that ATT doesn't allow you to make wifi calling primary on your device. Verizon is the same way. Doesn't kick in unless the cellular signal is weak.
I know Tmobile does make wifi calling primary. It always kicks in regardless of how strong the cellular signal is.
I have T Mobile and an iPhone 11, and it only goes to Wifi Calling when I have a week cell signal. I wish it would default to Wifi calling.
Hmm, that is weird- last time I had Tmo it was primary. They must have changed that.
AT&T has not come out with an LTE-based replacement for the Microcell (AT&T's name for what others called femtocells. I guess nanocell wasn't considered good marketing). If you have "some" signal, you can get a signal booster like described here:

I don't have any experience with those. The 3G Microcells, later renamed 4G Microcells when they rebranded 3G as 4G, are officially end of life and will be shut off "soon."
I find wi-fi calling to work pretty well since AT&T Fiber issued a firmware update for my router (RG). That said, if I am calling another iPhone user, I will typically use FaceTime audio to force it to use wi-fi at my house.
I actually tried a booster / antenna 2 years ago October.I'm no longer a big ladder person so I didn't get it up as high as I wanted for my trial.I only got a boosted signal for about 10 square feet.With winter looming(here in VT) and no easy way to get the wire inside and my 30 day trial running out I sold it to a friend.It works fine for him.Of course that company no longer makes that model.

I have VOIP apps on my phone for both the free Google Voice and the $35/year PhonePower account we use for "landline" service with an Obi Hai ATA at our NY cottage. I can use either one anywhere I have Internet service available regardless of whether I have cell service. That works well on the road when we have a good ATT hotspot signal and a poor or no signal for my Verizon phone.

To be fair, streaming services and $1 Redbox discs killed video rental stores. Dish might have hastened Blockbuster's demise, but the writing was on the wall.
Seems even the few remaining Family Video stores are shutting down- selling CBD in their stores didn't slow it down either.
I still have a dvd they allowed you to keep when the Dish/blockbuster service wrapped up
Charlie isn't stupid as we know, so I wonder if buying Blockbuster got Dish something of greater value than the retail operation like patents, copyrights, contracts, or other intellectual property that we're not aware of.
