Dish TV DVR issues, VIP 211K

I have a Dish TV VIP 211k receiver. I have had it for many years and never had any issues. Recently recordings would have the following message when I tried to play the show back. A problem was encountered when opening the files for this DVR event. Please note the Error Code: 05. I used a different portable hard drive and the same error was occurring. I can watch something from the same day or the day prior, but once it is a couple of days old I get this error message. I called Dish TV and they sent me a new Dish TV VIP 211K receiver. It is doing the exact same thing. I recorded a movie a couple of nights ago. I watched the first half last night, and went to watch the remainder tonight and the same error code came up and I can't finish the movie. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Wallys are dirt cheap and will give you a much better experience, I'd replace the receiver.

They sent him a new 211K. I don't think a Wally is going to change anything.

We had the same thing happen with one of the ViP 211s on our vacation account. It seemed to be tied to when my Brother-in-Law reset the Pay-as-you-go account. Older recordings on the EHD came up with the Error Code 05, but newer events could be recorded and viewed.

I have this exact same issue - I have another thread about it, and according to the Dish Rep that responded in my thread, it is a corruption of the recording and the recording needs to be recreated.

Error Code 05 on DishScapes?

I have never had this happen before - I just went to watch some previous Dish Scapes, and most of the Dish Scapes that I could watch previously now have an error code of 05. Attached are 3 examples - there are quite a few more that have them as well. I know I was able to watch them previously...

I just went back and played each of my recordings. There is a daily sports show that I record, and I can't play anything prior to 10/14/2024 - I have no problem playing anything recorded on 10/15 or later. Very strange.
