Why Is Ryan Gosling Caught in the Middle of the War Between Marvel and DC? http://www.vanityfair.com/vf-hollywood/2014/10/marvel-dc-fighting-over-ryan-gosling
If you had any doubts as to whether or not the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Cinematic Universe are at war, look no further than the major comic-book film announcements made this week alone. DC has Batman v Superman? That’s cute. Marvel has Captain America v Iron Man. Marvel has plans to release movies through 2019? That’s adorable. DC has it mapped out through 2020. The Avengers? That’s a feisty name for a team. Ah, but don’t look now, DC is rolling out the Suicide Squad. The list goes on and on. But the latest casting rumors reveal that DC plans to bring in some heavy-hitting Hollywood players (as if Batfleck wasn’t enough) to help bolster their side, and one actor in particular, Ryan Gosling, is caught in the middle.

DC’s New Film Lineup Is Beating Marvel’s in One Big Way http://wallstcheatsheet.com/enterta...-in-one-big-way.html/?a=viewall#ixzz3GVaeMkpZ
Warner Bros. has finally revealed plans for its DC Entertainment properties, unveiling a whopping 10-movie lineup of DC superhero films between 2016 and 2020. There’s a massive amount of information to pore over, but one thing that immediately stands about the studio’s upcoming slate is its unprecedented diversity. The genre has long been criticized for its lack of gender and racial diversity, with studios facing increasing public pressure to feature women and actors of color. But while Marvel has been lagging behind in its efforts to change that, it seems Warner Bros. and DC have gotten the message, loud and clear. During Warner Bros.’ announcement, the studio confirmed the upcoming release of three milestone-making projects: Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, Cyborg starring Ray Fisher, and Flash starring Ezra Miller.

Sony is screwing up Spider-Man Rumors of an Aunt May movie hint at what's wrong with the franchise http://www.theverge.com/2014/11/11/7193339/sony-is-screwing-up-spider-man
Sony wants Spider-Man to be as big as The Avengers, and no property is too good to milk for all it's worth. On top of The Sinister Six and the third Amazing Spider-Man film, Latino Review now reports that Sony executives are batting around the idea of a movie focusing on Peter Parker's Aunt May. And she'll, of course, be a spy in the swinging Mad Men era. Even if Sony comes out and says this isn't happening, that it's even a rumor worth addressing hints at how bad the Spider-Man franchise is already getting."Sony is stretching the Spider-Man mythos to its limit"Sony isn't shy about its ambitions for Spider-Man. All The Amazing Spider-Man 2 really did, aside from ending what was a genuinely likable onscreen pairing, was tease sequels and spinoffs. Did it make one lick of sense that Harry Osborn became the Green Goblin, other than the fact he's supposed to? No. But he did, and now he's poised for appearances in the followups. All this is because Sony wants to do the kind of world-building that Marvel is doing with The Avengers and what DC plans on doing with the Justice League. And in its desperation to play superhero catch-up, it's stretching the Spider-Man mythos to its conceivable limits.
