Distant network HD

I have distant network ( LA and NY) I watch mostly network stuff. I am contemplating an HD DVR. Are the distant network channels HD?

As far as the LA networks go they are

The NY ones are, except the CW.

Yes except the CW. However you will only get one set, NY or LA in HD not both

True, we had both in sd and when we went hd we lost one set.

I never understood why we can have both NY/LA in SD and only one in HD. Can anyone explain this? Thanks!

They Were Both Available!

When DTV first offered HD Distant Networks, you did get both the East and West Cost feeds. But after about the 1st year, DTV turned off one of the two coasts. They gave some BS answer, but it never made any since to anyone I know that has Distant Networks. My SD feeds of both coasts are still there.
Go figure!
