Do I need a sat connection to use AM21?

Not to Hijack this post I have question about the AM21.. I am trying to use my HR21-700 with an Am21.. I am moving and it will be a month before I can move into my new place A SNAFU but can I use the HR21-700 not hookup up to a dish??? I keep getting rescan satt... I can watch what I have on my hard drive but I can not use the AM21 for OTA..

no sat connection...no worky on OTA

But unfortunately you need a sat connection to use the OTA portion.
