Hi,

I recently purchased a Directv Slimline single output 'SWM' dish (SLM-5?)
Can I complete the installation with just the 'SWS4' splitter?
The wiring diagrams I looked at online show four lines from the dish into a 'SWM8' multiswitch. (I assume this is the old style four output dish)
By my thinking I should be able to go directly into the red power connection on the power inserter from the single output on the dish. Then from the "Signal to IRD" connector on the other side of the power inserter to the "In from SWM" on the 'SWS4' splitter.
I can then use all four "Out" connections (including the red one) on the 'SWS4' splitter to feed my four receivers.

Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks very much! :)

That is correct. If you have a SWM dish (single output) dish you don't need a SWM8. Hooking it up the way you said will work. Alternately, you could locate the PI after the SWS4 using the red output connection.
