Does Direct TV have its deal with Fox Regional Sports networks?

I'm going to be leaving Dish and would consider direct TV if they have their contract with Fox Regional Sports already in place with no danger of losing it. Dont want to leave one because they dont have it and then end up having it taken away from the one i go to.

Comcast/Xfinity is the other option. i know they have their deal in place but when i went through looking to order from them last night, my $139/mo for 1 gig down/220 channels went from $139/mo to $223 a month when adding 2 additoinal tv's and all the fee's. (It says DVR included...only partially. it says Regional Sports networks included in the 220 channels..but then there is an $8 fee tacked on each month for RSN's. And $14 for local broadcasts). Adds up.

Well, its Sinclair thats doing all the negotiating at this point, so I'm not sure that what the name is makes a difference. They have to honor existing agreements.

Do we know when the Direct TV agreement runs out or if they are currently involved in discussions?

Sinclair and AT&T reached a "long term" deal for the FSN channels in October 2019.

Do you know you can use Rokus instead of Comcast's Boxes and avoid the fees.

Also you will have Box, RSN ( maybe broadcast ) fees with DIRECTV also.

DTV and AT&T TV don't charge a broadcast TV fee the way that Comcast, Charter and other cablecos do. But they do charge a separate RSN fee, up to $8.50/mo, if your channel package includes them.

With DTV, the cost of whole-home DVR service and box for your first TV are included in the base package price, then you are charged $7/mo for each additional box you get for other TVs.

Around here, Comcast no longer includes any TV boxes in the base price. You can rent them at $5/mo each or instead just use their app on your own Roku or smart TV and save a little money. Base packages include 20 hours of cloud/whole-home DVR service. You can expand that to 150 hours for $10/mo or to 300 hours for $20/mo. But all that may differ depending on your area.

Dug in a bit more and it looks like RSN's are only available in DTVs larger tv package. Bit the bullet and signed up with the dark side: comcast. 21 year Dish customer over the last 23 years....but them removing RSN's pushed me away.

in talking to Comcast, they mentioned the roku option. But i wouldnt think you could then use the smart remotes... which seems like a very nice thing. (I like Dish;s smart remote)

Based on what I've seen firsthand as well as posts from other folks, using the Xfinity Stream app on a Roku definitely is not as good an overall experience as just using their TV service on their own X1 boxes with their voice remote. The Roku app is kinda clunky. If I was going to spend $70 or more per month on cable TV, I'd rather just spend another $5-10/month and rent the X1 boxes to go with it for the TV(s) I use most. Maybe just use the app for less-used TVs.

I don’t think you have to worry about Directv Loosing the RSN’s

They got too many commercial customers who need sports programming, or will jump providers.

Unlike Dish, Directv would raise rates before dropping any major sports package such as ESPN or Fox Sports.

Don't go to comcrap(xfinity) they are compressing channnels down to 720p
