Command Performance H to H

Congrats to your acquisition. This is one of the strongest if not the most powerfull H2H motors ever produced.
The motor is well known to the european satellite DX community thanks to DX Bozoth who's fitted his 3.7m one-piece Andrew giant on it. As far as I know it is still in operation even after almost 30 years.

I have up until recently used it to carry my 3.4m Prodelin which weighs some 350 lbs (160kg). Besides all the motor is so quiet one could literally sleep under it.

Note that the motor operates with 24V.

Here are some videos of the original MZT motor and antenna in action.

Thank you for the great information! I am in the process of refurbishing the 2 motors but have encountered a bit of a problem in that I can't seem to get the housing apart. I don't know if there is a bolt I am missing or it simply requires a bit of force to get it apart.

I will post more pictures as I progress.

Any development here, Stecle?
I am a small business owner, so unfortunately my hobbies like satellite often get sidetracked. I am still having problems getting the housing to separate. I don't want to force anything, as the housing is cast and obviously getting parts is out of the question.

The other issue is my workshop needs to be heated, and right now the outside temp is -26 Celsius. It takes about 4 hours to heat up the shop in this weather with electric heaters. My plan is to resume the project in April.

Your post about DX Bozoth, who is using this motor with an Andrew 3.7 M, has got me thinking. I am seriously considering using this motor with one of my 2.4 M Prodelin offsets.

I will post any updates.

Finally had some spare time and got back to restoring this mount. It was very difficult to get it apart, but thankfully got it done with no damage.
Was very happy to see that all the gears are still in great condition. A couple of bearings have a little drag to them, but might just need repacking. I still have a couple more bearing to extract from the housing.

With the motor detached from the gear train, I powered it up and it ran with no problems.

Next up, repack the bearings and grease the gears.
