Don't use DishStore.net

They are not going this year. I accepted that once Jamie cheated on her husband and in returns wants half of something she know little about, the Dodgers

I actually still give them a chance. Slim as it might be. Jamie needs to go away, far far away. Frank hasn't done half bad with the team, definitely better than when Murdoch and Fox owned them...Still miss the O'Malley's tho

Whats kind of Ironic about the Dodgers is that O"Malley made such a big deal in the 1950' about Ebbetts field being old and needing to be replaced, and used that to move the Team to LA.

When you think about it, and look at Venu's like Yankee Stadium, Tiger Stadium, Cominsky Park, Wrigley Field, Fenway Park Etc. those stadiums gave another 40 years of service and in 2 cases are still in use today.

The Dodgers now have one of the oldest stadiums in the MLB

A little late to the party, but I have nothing but praise for the Dishstore. Quite some time ago I wanted to place an order, they advised me of a less expensive way to do what I wanted.

This is certainly NOT alot of bull crap. It is very easy to understand unless you are boiling made when skipping over it.

The rebates are based upon what programming a person signs up for and is all spelled out on the rebate form.

OK, first, let me say that I read the entire rebate form before making the recommendation to my father to call and sign up. I have also been a dishstore.net customer in the past with no problems whatsoever. That's why I felt comfortable sending my father there.

But my argument is that IT IS NOT CLEAR. If #2, and #3 added the line "...and did not use a Club Dish Card." then it would make sense. But the way it's written, #3 DOES apply to my Dad. He met EVERY condition in #3, but YES, we did use a Club Dish card. More on that below.

I didn't look there because I thought I understood the rebate form just fine. To make CERTAIN that I understood it properly, I called your "knowledgeable" staff to verify that my father would receive a $75 rebate. They CONFIRMED that EVEN THOUGH WE WERE GOING TO USE A CLUB DISH CARD, HE WOULD GET THE ENTIRE $75 rebate. I wouldn't be complaining if it would have been explained that #1 applied to us.

Actually, that's not true. Since his first bill was much less than $50, they could not give him a $50 credit. They only credited him the max amount of the bill. (Not sure how much that was exactly as I don't have his statement in front of me.)

How much you pay your employees is none of my concern and is irrelevant to the discussion (although I do see your point that there is a cost of doing business. I'm a business owner and completely understand that.) BUT, if you are going to pay them a commission, make sure they understand "the rules" too and explain the rules properly. Don't allow them to tell new customers that they will receive a $75 rebate and then send a $25 rebate. Not cool. Perhaps you should take that guys commission and send it to my father?

considering the guy hit and ran Claude, I wouldn't sweat his rant.

Although I am "subscribed" to this thread, I was not receiving e-mail notifications. I thought the thread was dead. I certainly would have responded sooner had I known it was active.

Thank you!

Again, I would have responded sooner with the facts had I known the thread was active.

As far as all of the other name calling on this site...I have been a member of this site for a long time and I never had experienced this kind of immaturity. I thought that personal bashing was not tolerated within the rules. I know it's just an internet forum, but I have lost a lot of respect for many of the names in this thread.

Although I've just stated the facts, flame suit on.

To me it just sounds like a misunderstanding of the rebate. Whoever you talked to at Dishstore may have interperated it wrong. I don't really don't see how any of it is confusing after reading it. I am a retailer also and these things happen.

As for not recommending Dishstore based on that experience, I disagree. I really get tired of customers moaning about stupid experiences like that. That was a pretty minor thing that happened to you.

I'd also like to make two additional points.

Claude, do you see that your sales people would have motivation to tell potential new customers that they will receive the $75 rebate even if they will only be receiving a $25 rebate. It doesn't matter to them as they will receive the commission once the customer signs up.

Also, if the customer is already supposed to be knowledgeable about all of the terms and conditions BEFORE calling (as implied by many of the people in this thread, including yourself), then why pay a sales person commission at all? They didn't DO any selling. If the potential customer has to know everything before they call, why not just let them sign up on the web site and skip paying somebody a $50 commission? The web site did all of the "selling".

But I do understand that it would be impossible for you to differentiate between uneducated customers that need their hand held and educated customers, so the commission you pay to your phone sales staff is likely apropos. Just understand that it makes your phone sales staff more interested in making a sale than actually helping the customer.

It's not so much that it happened to me, but to my dad after I made the recommendation to him. Sure, he still paid less than he would have locally, but imagine how bad it makes me look when I use my Dish Club card (so I get credit on my bill) and then my dad's rebate is smaller than was promised to him BECAUSE I used the card.

So be a good son and give him $50.
