Don't use DishStore.net

They are not going this year. I accepted that once Jamie cheated on her husband and in returns wants half of something she know little about, the Dodgers

I actually still give them a chance. Slim as it might be. Jamie needs to go away, far far away. Frank hasn't done half bad with the team, definitely better than when Murdoch and Fox owned them...Still miss the O'Malley's tho

Whats kind of Ironic about the Dodgers is that O"Malley made such a big deal in the 1950' about Ebbetts field being old and needing to be replaced, and used that to move the Team to LA.

When you think about it, and look at Venu's like Yankee Stadium, Tiger Stadium, Cominsky Park, Wrigley Field, Fenway Park Etc. those stadiums gave another 40 years of service and in 2 cases are still in use today.

The Dodgers now have one of the oldest stadiums in the MLB

A little late to the party, but I have nothing but praise for the Dishstore. Quite some time ago I wanted to place an order, they advised me of a less expensive way to do what I wanted.

Here is my responce, which is the same "line of bull" or responce, that my manager gave to this customer when they called on the phone....

First of all, Please download a current copy of our rebate form which can be found here...
http://www.satelliteguys.us/metro25/dishstoresite/rebateform.pdf

There is 4 rebate options on this form...

#1 $25 CASH BACK. Customer Subscribes to DISH Family, signed up with a Club DISH Card, or did not sign a 24 Month commitment with DISH Network.

#2 Customer Subscribes to a minimum basic programming package of Americas Top
120 or above, signed a 24 Month commitment with DISH Network and signed up for Credit Card Auto-pay on the day the initial order was placed.

#3 $75 CASH BACK. Customer Subscribes to Minimum basic programming of Americas Top 120 with a Digital Video Recorder, signed a 24 Month commitment with DISH Network and signed up for Credit Card Auto-pay on the day the initial order was placed.

#4 $25 HD Platinum Pack Bonus. Customer Subscribes to the HD Platinum package

The way it works is your rebate is either $25, $50 or $75. If you get the HD Bonus package you then get an additional $25 back for up to $100 in savings.

THE WHOLE ISSUE HERE IS THAT THIS PERSON USED A CLUB DISH CARD WHEN THEY SIGNED UP

It says right on the rebate form that the rebate is $25 if you use a Club DISH Card when you sign up.

In addition it also states this on this page on our website...
DISH Network Satellite TV - Frequently Asked Questions FAQs

As far as im concerned this is clear as day, it says it on the website, it says it on the rebate form, and they decided to use a Club Dish card anyways.

This is certainly NOT alot of bull crap. It is very easy to understand unless you are boiling made when skipping over it.

The rebates are based upon what programming a person signs up for and is all spelled out on the rebate form.

OK, first, let me say that I read the entire rebate form before making the recommendation to my father to call and sign up. I have also been a dishstore.net customer in the past with no problems whatsoever. That's why I felt comfortable sending my father there.

It says right on the rebate form that the rebate is $25 if you use a Club DISH Card when you sign up.

But my argument is that IT IS NOT CLEAR. If #2, and #3 added the line "...and did not use a Club Dish Card." then it would make sense. But the way it's written, #3 DOES apply to my Dad. He met EVERY condition in #3, but YES, we did use a Club Dish card. More on that below.

In addition it also states this on this page on our website...

I didn't look there because I thought I understood the rebate form just fine. To make CERTAIN that I understood it properly, I called your "knowledgeable" staff to verify that my father would receive a $75 rebate. They CONFIRMED that EVEN THOUGH WE WERE GOING TO USE A CLUB DISH CARD, HE WOULD GET THE ENTIRE $75 rebate. I wouldn't be complaining if it would have been explained that #1 applied to us.

Now im not saying I have an issue taking Club Dish cards, but the issue that I run into is that Im already paying out up to $100 CASH to customers who sign up through us. I have to pay the sales people another $50 for their commission to close your sale, plus I have advertising and other expenses to run the office.

When a Club Dish card is used to sign up, I get a $50 reduction in commissions from DISH Network. There is simply not enough money left over when I get paid on your account from DISH Network to pay my sales people, pay you a $75 or $100 rebate, and have to eat $50 on a Club Dish referal.

For the person who started this thread, keep in mind that they already got a $50 credit on their first months bill immediatly when they signed up.

Actually, that's not true. Since his first bill was much less than $50, they could not give him a $50 credit. They only credited him the max amount of the bill. (Not sure how much that was exactly as I don't have his statement in front of me.)

This person was not penalized for using the Club Dish card because the net result at the end was the same, and they where still $25 ahead by going through us instead of calling and using the Club Dish card directly through DISH Network

We do value everyones business, and most people know we will bend over backwards to provide good customer service.

Anyone who has gotten a rebate check from us, what was the turn around time to get your check back from us? Right now we are running less than 14 days from the time you mail us the request, till the time you receive the check back in the mail.

These are my rules on our rebate redemption, and unfortunatly if I didn't have this policy in place, every sale would end up being a Club Dish referal, as everyone here is fully aware that there are Club Dish card numbers posted all over the internet

How much you pay your employees is none of my concern and is irrelevant to the discussion (although I do see your point that there is a cost of doing business. I'm a business owner and completely understand that.) BUT, if you are going to pay them a commission, make sure they understand "the rules" too and explain the rules properly. Don't allow them to tell new customers that they will receive a $75 rebate and then send a $25 rebate. Not cool. Perhaps you should take that guys commission and send it to my father?

considering the guy hit and ran Claude, I wouldn't sweat his rant.

Although I am "subscribed" to this thread, I was not receiving e-mail notifications. I thought the thread was dead. I certainly would have responded sooner had I known it was active.

The system has become so convoluted that not even the gamers can understand it anymore. If you were born on a tuesday leave the bath water out for 15 minutes then .... sign over your third born in exchange for ...... after that you will receive 4 (one time, yeah an oxymoron) credits of -$0.74 and be billed one charge of $2.95 a total of 5 times. Ridiculous!

That is why the providers and the retailers need to go back to the good old days of owned when everyone paid to play, not all these ransom payments. And we wonder why everybodies bill has gone sky high! They make up for the new on the backs of the old.

Thank you!

I think we're a pretty fair-minded bunch when it comes to listening to both sides of the story - most of the time. However, in this case I believe the assertion the op made in this thread has been proven false. Perhaps it's time for a mod to rename the title of this thread to, "I'm a whiny baby who needs my mommy because I can't read a very clear rebate form and information posted on DishStore.net." ;)

Again, I would have responded sooner with the facts had I known the thread was active.

As far as all of the other name calling on this site...I have been a member of this site for a long time and I never had experienced this kind of immaturity. I thought that personal bashing was not tolerated within the rules. I know it's just an internet forum, but I have lost a lot of respect for many of the names in this thread.

Although I've just stated the facts, flame suit on.

To me it just sounds like a misunderstanding of the rebate. Whoever you talked to at Dishstore may have interperated it wrong. I don't really don't see how any of it is confusing after reading it. I am a retailer also and these things happen.

As for not recommending Dishstore based on that experience, I disagree. I really get tired of customers moaning about stupid experiences like that. That was a pretty minor thing that happened to you.

I'd also like to make two additional points.

Claude, do you see that your sales people would have motivation to tell potential new customers that they will receive the $75 rebate even if they will only be receiving a $25 rebate. It doesn't matter to them as they will receive the commission once the customer signs up.

Also, if the customer is already supposed to be knowledgeable about all of the terms and conditions BEFORE calling (as implied by many of the people in this thread, including yourself), then why pay a sales person commission at all? They didn't DO any selling. If the potential customer has to know everything before they call, why not just let them sign up on the web site and skip paying somebody a $50 commission? The web site did all of the "selling".

But I do understand that it would be impossible for you to differentiate between uneducated customers that need their hand held and educated customers, so the commission you pay to your phone sales staff is likely apropos. Just understand that it makes your phone sales staff more interested in making a sale than actually helping the customer.

It's not so much that it happened to me, but to my dad after I made the recommendation to him. Sure, he still paid less than he would have locally, but imagine how bad it makes me look when I use my Dish Club card (so I get credit on my bill) and then my dad's rebate is smaller than was promised to him BECAUSE I used the card.

So be a good son and give him $50. ;)
