Looking for some advise/opinion......
Yesterday neither my 612 or 722 could acquire any satellite signals (they would try for hours if I let them). I unplugged the power inserter for about a minute, plugged it back in and the receivers then acquired the signals in a normal time. After about five minutes of normal operation, the receivers lost the signals again and once again the only way to regain the signal was to power cycle the inserter.
The cycle would then continue to repeat itself..... run a few minutes, lose signal, stay lost until the inserter was power cycle, over and over again......
Finally after about 6-8 episodes, I plugged the power inserter directly into wall outlet instead of the monster brand power strip/surge protector and presto no more problems..... receivers have worked fine ever since.
Why would this "fix" the issue?
