Dr. Phil, the daytime talk show starring the mustachioed shrink, will begin broadcasting in High-Definition on September 8.

That's according to an article by Broadcasting and Cable Magazine.

The publication reports that Dr. Phil's switch will bring the number of syndicated programs in high-def to eight. The Oprah Winfrey Show and the Ellen DeGeneres Show announced plans earlier this year to switch to high-def productions this fall.

Syndicated shows now in high-def include Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! and Two and a Half Men.

B&C writes that the Dr. Phil studio will be upgraded to accommodate the new high-def production.

"(Dr. Phil) wants to be able to give his audience the best viewing experience he possibly can,” show producer Rich de Michele told the magazine.
