My buddy has an old sidecar dsr-905. He said I could have it for free.
It was used a few years ago, but the internal battery is dead and it has a bad ID number.

Will this receiver still work for free play or zero key dc 2 channels?

Most probably not, a 905 should be a door stopper once the battery goes, it would be worth sending in to ATS for repair, or giving it to someone here who wants to pay the repairs, then they basically will have a new 905.
