Hi,

I am getting a Pansat 2500A and an SG2100 motor. Both should be here in the next few days.

I already had a DTV setup installed. Will I need to get a different dish and LNB to receive FTA broadcasts?

Thanks

Yes and no, if you re point your direcTV dish and LNB you can pick up some FTA stuff, Music and soccer spring to mind, but to get the FULL use of your new receiver you will need a 30" dish (at least, I prefer the 95cm) and a Ku LNB, that will open you up for MUCH more FTA, you can mount a KU band LNB and a DirecTV LNB on the same 30" dish, then you can motor to any satellite in the Clarke Belt, this is the setup I have, good luck and get ready for some fun!

DirecTV is not MPEG2 fully compatable you wont see anything. If you had Dish or Expressview you could set your local Oscillator to 11250 and watch a barker channel. For information on setting the local oscillator check your dealer's web site.
