EchoStar launching Sling Modem ?

They are inputs to broadcast over broadband. Slingbox is a broadcast device. What would it ouptut with no input?

It would output content from the internet. Or from another sling box hooked up to a remote source a la SlingCatcher.

For thi particualr device yes. But you could attach a sling box in the same manner that people have before.

Thanks.

How exactly do you sling hd from a 722 in one room to another???
Sorry, I am very interested but am a little confused.

Why is this in the DISH forum??? This should be in the gadget forum....
DISH and Echostar have been split
It is an Echostar/Sling product not a DISH product, they will be selling it cable companies, and hopefully end users who wish to buy their own modems and not rent.....
If it is able to receive the digital cable signals without the need for a set top box then it has a lot of potential to add value for cable companies. You can combine the sling box and cable modem into one it woud be a value added product for a cable company.

That little sling cable modem doesn't really excite me.
What DOES excite me is the 722 with built in Sling Box!!
Now that's just plain cool!

There - now we're talking about Dish, not EchoStar!
