I went from Windows XP to Windows 8, so this may actually have been phased out in the two subsequent Windows versions.

When I'm in File Explorer (formerly Windows Explorer), I'm accustomed to the being able to single left-click the file names and they expand. In Windows XP, I didn't have to actually click the small + next to each file. In Windows 8, the + is replaced by a triangle symbol. I either have to double-click the file name to expand it, or I have to click the triangle. Is there a setting to make it behave the way it did with Windows XP and open expand with a single click?

In my W7, under "Folder Options"there is a check box for single or double click to open an item. Your W8 may or may not be the same...

I found it by doing a search with " double click "

I just put Classic Shell on my Windows 8.1 pre release version and I think I remember seeing that somewhere in the setup of that. You might want to install Classic Shell yourself and see how much easier Win 8 can be!
