EPG Guide Data - daily update time ?

kstuart, I did try to explain to you the process a few times.
SW will does changes in a file on HDD by processing each new version of EEPG (see above). I don't know a priority for the process, so it could be minutes of delay.

Also, I wonder whether putting the 622 into standby will always download a Guide information update, or will it always wait for the time specified in the "Updates" screen ?

It will only download a new GUIDE if your GUIDE is more than 32 hours out of date... or you force a GUIDE download by running a Checkswitch Test.

The EEPG is always spooling... just it only is new every 6 hours.

Any proof of your first statement ?
I concur about 6 hours 'new' - do you have real info ? Should we dig into real data ? If it changing 10 or 11 times per day as you see from stream analysis, then there are new info.Who will do that if no changes ? Right ?
