i was looking on my installation details and i see this:
Equipment: DIRECTV DVR Installation Date: Saturday, March 29, 2008 - Afternoon (Noon to 5 PM) I did not order DVR service i just got choice extra with a standard receiver. Could this be that they will bring a DVR instead of a standard receiver or is this a mistake.

Looks to me like they will be bringing a DVR , you might want to call them and correct this, if this is an error.

This is normal. Some times it takes a week or so for there web page to be correct.
 
hmm figures i always double check just to be sure.

Another option you have is to call the installers directly, they can pull up your order and let you know for sure what they are bringing.

If you don't have your installers number, call D* and they will give you the number.

it looks to be standard.
 
Maybe they are now starting to send out DVR's as standard equipment ????

Nothing there says anything about being a HD version, but D* does normally considers DVR's to be advanced equipment, maybe it's HD DVR's , I don't know for sure, I never had a DVR till I got HD as well.

How did you get an install date for this Saturday?? We are in the same town (neighbors for all we know) and my Saturday install is the 5th. I signed up last weekend.

Mine is HD though, does that have anything to do with it?

Call back and see if you can reschedule for something sooner, tell them you plans got changed for the 5th and you would not be home and wanted to see about something sooner.
I think they give Saturdays out when people ask for them otherwise they normally go M-F , ask them if you can get a Saturday ... btw, they also can do Sundays if need be.

I keep checking online to see if i can reschedule. No big deal, i can wait another week.

Just curious: Why would you not want a DVR? DVRs are so useful, I always wonder when I get work orders for just standard receivers.

Don't worry about the thread, it's talking about the same type of information and we are still helping Logger if and when he needs it.

You cannot count on finding an earlier date ONLINE, call D* and get the installation number and call them directly, tell them you want to be on thier cancellation list, if someone cancels or the guys get done early they can pick up addl work, yours could be one of them.


How you doin Logger ?

I dont mind just watching SD television. I order the service just so i have something to watch:D. Now lets say if SD was not available then what would be the case here. i Might get DVR with HD if SD was not available.
