I am in Erie, PA, I have a Sony TV 36HS500 does receive HD, will be getting a Bravia some time soon.
We recently, a few months ago started getting locals in HD
ch12 nbc, ch35 cbs, ch66 fox.
The picture is absolutely great, CBS Late night Letterman. FOX Football, Prison Break. need I say more.

Now I am considering DISH they say I can hook rabbit ears up to the HD\DVR box and pick up my local HD.
DISH said I will then be able to DVR my locals in HD.
Does it work?

I spoke with people I know who like DISH but say that when it snows heavy and it sticks to the dish you lose picture.

Any more info will help.

Thanks

A lot of thick wet snow will cause you to lose the sat signal, not the OTA, which is what you will be getting the signal from using rabbit ears. Over an average winter season, sat signals may go out once or twice and if you have easy access to the dish, cleaning it off (even if is a light brushing) will bring the sat signal right back. You can record the OTA (but only one channel at a time) and if you do not subscribe to locals, you will not have guide info but you can set manual timers.
