WARNING: Spoilers are allowed in this thread!

This should not have been moved from Satellite & CableTV HD Programming Forum.

There has been plenty of discussion in that Forum of HD sports programming, and "HD Programming" doesn't just mean movies...

I wasn't sure about the best place for it, since this thread is not HD-specific (unlike WorldSport-HD which was HD-only).
Ok, if you prefer, I'll move it back to the Programming area, where we traditionally hold soccer-related discussions. ;)

Note, that the first two games tomorrow will be on ESPN Classic.
For those of us who don't have this channel: both games will re-air on ESPN2 starting at 2:30 am ET.

Yes, it's 11:50 am of course! Sorry about that.

The game is about to start!

Just watched the ESPN2 replay of the Opening Ceremony and of the two games played yesterday.

The Good: The replay was in HD (even though the program guide didn't say so)!

The Bad: They didn't show entire games: big chunks have been cut off from both games.

The Ugly: The ESPN2 ticker at the bottom of the screen revealed the final scores!

Not been watching in HD, but I have to say that so far I've enjoyed all of the games (played at 6pm and 8.45 in Europe)- Portugal look frighteningly good and i was impressed by the Germans - while neither Turkey or Poland looked poor teams despite defeat. Shame the host sides are not that great, although they both gave it their best shot in opening games.....Great matches today Holland - Italy and France - Rumania (Rumania are a talented side).....
What will Russia do tomorrow Ilya??? Some good young players and a great coach. If they keep the workrate high they have a good chance against Spain, who keep the ball but are too slow in the buildup and have no plan B (a bit like Barcelona...)

Netherlands - Italy! Wow!!! What a game! Beautiful goals!
So far the best game of the week!

Fantastic performance from the Dutch team!

Every time Portugal play, I just keep hoping to see Cristiano Ronaldo kicked high into the air...He's a great player, but a spoilt little brat you only have to see the R Madrid affair to realise that. Portugal are great to watch though, as were the Dutch and Italy
As for England, after seeing the fist 3 days, I am almost glad we are not there, wqith McClaren in charge, we would have been embarassing - at least with Capello we will be tough to beat in 2010 World Cup....as long as it doesn´t go to penalties

Crickey Spain 4 - Russia 1. Great display from Villa and co, but I have to say, had the Russians defended that badly at Stalingrad, we'd all (in Europe at least) be speaking German now....
As for Sweden - Greece, the best thing were the Swedish (female - ho hum) fans...Greece a side happy to draw every game 0-0 zzzzzzzz

He-he. Looks like we need to teach Paul how to use Spoiler tags. ;)
I am sure Paul watches all EURO2008 games live. Most of us here in the US watch them on DVR delay, because they are shown during business hours. :D

To hide some text, add the following tags:

Today's score is: [SP0ILER]9:1 ... just kidding![/SP0ILER] (Use letter "O", not digit"0".) This will look like this:

Today's score is:
9:1 ... just kidding!

Sorry keep forgetting you chaps are 6 or 7 hrs behind us...suffice to say both of todays games well worth watching....in terms of excitement goals and mad weather conditions. They kick off 6pm and 8.45 local time in Spain. -which is perfect, except i always fall asleep during the first half of the first game - not cos its dull, but because the first beer takes hold after my trip to the gym (not that i am a lightweight or anything like that)....By the way, Sid Lowe is in Geneva for the week - sleeping on a friends floor...
Still gutted England not there.

Paul, say Hi to Sid from all of us at SatelliteGuys! Lucky bastard! He gets to see the EURO2008 games in person!
Hope WorldSport channels finds its way to our TV sets in time for the next season of La Liga.

He-he. Looks like we need to teach Paul how to use Spoiler tags. ;)

I actually wasn't suggesting that, but instead, proposing to make this a spoiler thread (with warning in the thread title), because there is not much to talk about otherwise.

The schedule is in the first post, so it is easy for people to access that without seeing the spoilers that are on the other end of the thread...
