False Advertising by Dish!

I really like many of the Dish features but I also know that it wouldn't be that difficult to be straight up with people when they sign up. It took a couple of days of tech supports and posts here before I was able to find out what the real deal is. Dish may be making some kind of statement with this but it's not going to keep me over the long haul. I had Charter for 20 years and tried to do my homework before I switched.

I am with you. I really enjoy many of dishes features, but there is certain programming that's a must for me or I have to leave such as Root sports RM, altitude, CBS local for NFL local games (Broncos) and Amc.

I hope they get this resolved soon for you or maybe do the MLB extra innings and use the VPN workaround.

If you recall many moons ago, the Braves played on Peachtree TV. The year before Fox bought the rights to those games, Peachtree and Dish were in disputes. Peachtree wanted an increase of course and the channel went off Dish for a few weeks. When the two finally came to an agreement, the very next year Fox bought the rights to the games that would have been on Peachtree.

IMO, Fox is truly the one to blame here. Is Charlie cheap? Yes. But I can appreciate giving Fox the finger in this particular situation given the fact Fox yanked those games from Peachtree after Dish had just reached an agreement. Dish is now paying extra for a channel that now provides little programming that anyone cares about.

Since Dish was more than willing to work with me on my programming and I am able to watch all the games via my roku and have MLB EI, I am satisfied with his Dish has handled this with me as a braves fan.

In terms of the missing games that is all on Fox, but Dish should have a responsibility to inform any potential new subscribers, in those viewing area's, up front that those games are missing and may not be available anytime in the next few years.

Like all RSN's people want them mainly for the games, and IMO it is just Dish being dishonest by not disclosing that up front, before locking individuals into 2 year contracts.

Who did you call and who is Charlie?

Raven, I live in the zip code next door to yours. I too was angry with Dish but I did what Krauser suggested, signed up for unblock-us and never miss a game. It's an extra $5.00 a month but worth every penny.

I called Dish. 1-800-333-DISH and spoke with a retention specialist.

Charlie is the CEO of Dish Network. That's why everyone pokes at him. He's cheap, no doubt about it.
I'm a little slow here, do retention specialists care about people who just signed up?

I can see why the OP is upset but it is not false advertising at all. Like Chad said, they carry the channel and you are receiving it. Dish can not guarantee what programming is carried on those stations.

False advertising would be if Dish was putting ads out saying that you should sign up for Dish so you can watch the Braves on Fox Sports South. It seems to me that the OP just assumed he would be able to watch the games on that channel and I don't blame him though. I would think most people would assume they would be able to watch the games on that channel as well.
