Fan for Coolsat 8000HD

Since my CS8000 is rebooting once in a while because of the heating problem I just purchased an USB computer fan for it from rad!o Sh4ck. To tell the truth I wasn't aware that this unit doesnt have USb port. Is there any way I can use this fan for this unit or do I need to get another one. I'm looking forward to get a fan that it can be turn on/off automatically any time the unit is in use or not. Anyway an external fan can be connected to this unit via any of the connectors?? Thanks

Get another fan...You might look for a small 12v box fan with bearings and run it off a wall transformer, they even make thermal controlled fans or if your good at circuit design you could make your own

The thread I was thinking about had to do with cooling a Pansat 9200, and was considerably more aggressive. -
Might pay to read through it for a few additional ideas, . . . -

Since I had a computer fan installed, the CS8000 has been running great! The fan I installed have the bearings in it and I hardly notice the fan noise.
If you don't have a old computer to get a fan out of it, the Radio Shack will have them, around $10 to $15. It must be 12 volts.

If you decide to go this route, PLEASE study the setup of the wiring of the fan. I have the fan in the standing position blowing toward the processor. I hot glued it to the board.
