My parents C-Band system has been unhooked for years. I figure that the actuator arm is probably rusted and seized pretty bad by now. I am going to visit them at their rural home this summer, and I am hooking up a Free-To-Air Fortec receiver on 123W Galaxy 10Ku, as well as 97 W Galaxy 25 Ku. I'd also like to use one of the inputs on the Diseqc switch to their old C-band system to pull in some DVB stuff.

Could anybody who is using C-Band suggest a bird to leave it pointed at? I was thinking possibly 99 W Galaxy 16, for the network feeds. Any better ideas?

Oops. I guess I missed Iceberg's original thread :)

Thanks for the answers everyone!

no problem :)

I have a fixed dish at G4 and a fixed dish at G10 hooked to a 4x4 multiswitch and running to a few receivers throughout the house. :)

i would have to say t6. in the mornings there are at times 16 tps running feeds at one time on the analog side, alot of live feeds from top actors and actresses. also jerry springer 3 or 4 hrs a day. not to mention the sat that my astros put there backhauls on, and if you like porn a couple of ten max channels you can subscribe to. this sat has way more analog feeds than the others, even alot on the digital side. i definetly say t6 for me.

Dump or squirt some Liquid Wrench down the arm and let it soak for a couple of days and that should free it up. If it does free up dump some 90wt gear oil into it to keep it lubracated. I do that every winter and this arm is only the second one I've had in 24 years.

On time I couldn't get the bolts on my car shocks off due to rust, I loaded them up with the "Wrench" went on about my business and about 3 hours later they came right off. That is some amazing stuff.
