First time tuning in a 36" dish with a linear LNB to the AMC4 sat for new customer this coming monday. All I have at this time is SatBuddy meter for DTV/DISH installs. What is the best way to tune these dishes? All advice appreciated to make this go smoothly!

No sweat, use a DBS (DirecTV or Dish) LNB point and peak at the 101W DirecTV satellite, swap LNB to the KU LNBF, repeak using the TV and go home : )

AMC-4 and DirecTV 101W are at the same orbital position in the sky!

See you in the FTA area!

Once you have located the 101 west slot remember to rotate the LNBF to the correct "skew" and slide the LNBf towards or away from the reflector to maximixe the QUALITY reading on the receiver. You will also find that the AMC4 signal will require a slight azimuth shift to peak the QUALITY if you have found the 101 slot with a signal strength meter.

I use my digisat to peak the signal, the trick is, set everything into the receiver and keep it on, you can listen to the tone to maximum the signal. Notice, this is only you did set the Az/elevation correct.
