My wife turns on CBS this afternoon and the HP golf tourney is on. Oprah is on the analog channel.

"Why isn't Oprah on?"
"This is the digital channel, Oprah isn't on this channel."
"This is CBS right?"
"Yeah, but it's the digital CBS."
"So you're telling me with our big HDTV, fancy satellite service, and digital sound, I can't watch Oprah when I want to?"
"Ummm..."

I hooked up some old rabbit ears so she could see Brad Pitt today. Does this ever happen to you?

Yeah, we are in a fringe area for picking up CBS digital. It comes in watchable sometimes and other times it doesn't depending on the weather and electrical interference (low VHF channel 3 crap). My wife loves watching stuff in HD (and even digital 4x3), but get ticked off when Thursday night rolls around and she can't watch Survivor because of the audio and video dropouts. I had to keep the locals on cable just for CBS... $15 a month for one damn analog channel!

Not in my area. It's a syndicated show.

The problem was that analog CBS was showing something different than digital CBS.
