G4 99W networks pic quality

I really notice the poor picture quality on the network mux over at 99W 3845H 15030.
Does anyone know why they are so poor compared to alot of the other channels up there on c-band?

I agree. They are pretty bad. Must be the encoder they use? Low bandwidth on the TP. The ABC 720p high def feed is ok on that mux but the rest. Yuck. Maybe the ABC feed is hogging all the bandwidth.

It's just bad. Don't think it's any worse that what you'd get with pizza though.

Definitely worse than any pizza I've seen. Anyway, I just wondered if anyone knew why one set of channels would just be so much worse, especially being that c-band seems to usually be first generation (or close to it) and not so compressed.

You shoulda seen it when they also had a SD abc feed in that mux. Whoa! They are just trying to get too much in the bandwidth they have available, so it's compressed excessively.

ION seems to handle 12 channels on 103w 3840H much much better.
It might be the difference between realtime compression and having the luxury to pre-process content.

Is it my imagination or did the quality increase on this mux. I was watching one of the channels a while ago and my attention wasn't distracted by how lousy the picture was. Good on them! (unless I need my eyes checked)

I think the Lesea channels have a nice picture on 99W. I watch "Hogan's Heroes" when it's on week nights at 10:30PM EST.
