cant pick up cannels on viewsat ultra wwineguard31"dish w/ invacom dual lnb . what settings in antenna menu and what direction if im in N E Ohio?
confused

G19 is at 97W and G18 is 123W. Your dish elevation should be 26.4 and the best transponder is 11805 H 4580. That one seems to be the strongest in NEO. Make sure whatever you have that dish mounted to is straight.

Also check out www.dishpointer.com to make sure you have a good line of sight.

galaxy 19

thanks Morbius ... went there its a nice green line. this is where i have it aimed, get a signal, but only ftn-2 and etn-3 show.. Am i correct to pick out galaxy 10R as there is no 19 in menu...also system is stationary. Also i have in menu setting lnb high / lnb low? Tanks again brianf

still f'd up

Morbius i tried suggestions didnt work... 1) there is no galaxy 19 only intelsat 5 at 97' . ow) no 11805 H 4580 as if i knew what they mean. i have a menu that looks like this SATELLITE Intelstar5 97.ow
LNB POWER ON
LNB TYPE Universal
LNB HIGH 10600 closest to 11805 is 10750 - 11849?
LNB LOW 9750 closest is 5150
TPFREQ 11789

the more i learn the less i know thanks again

Don't worry we all started out stumbling around making mistakes that is why this forum is here. I sent you a message about that receiver and as I said I don't now anything abut it ,but there should a way to change the transponders. Can you get a list of what satellites there are on that box?

progress?

Thanks again Morbius I appreciate your efforts. Turns out last nite I discoverd how to enter the values u gave me(no work) , so I went w/values that gave me quality. Ended up w/100 or so channels (Pentagon, current, surfboy, ftn, etn, and a bunch of test patterns. I consider this progress after 3 days. I downloaded Viewsat file from Viewsat before I started all of this, so where to from here? It would be nice to see the stations that these lists tout...Thanks again IOU...brianf...p.s. Learned myself how to enter tp values manually(like mom said, "read the directions, stupid")

check out The List here, top of menu for info on which satellites have what channels.
Set your satellites up with LNB-Standard, Local Oscillator or LO Freq at 10750. Pick an active transponder from The List on the satellite you are aiming for, and watching the signal meters-slowly pan your dish east/west until you see activity on the meter. Then adjust elevation and skew for best PQ. It's easier without a motor for beginners. The viewsat should display the satellite name in the setup screen, once you hit an active signal.
