Saw a lone $1.59 on north end of town, Murphy's at $1.62 ...

(1.55 at some stations...but they are 4-5 miles away)

This is the cheapest I have remembered in ten or more years. It has dropped from 1.53 down to 1.51 here and in a town about half an hour away it went from 1.47 down to 1.44

Seeing that the tax on gas is around 50 cents per gallon I don't think we will see prices fall much further maybe around a quarter or thirty five cents max if we see $20 per barrel oil. When you adjust for inflation we are paying some of the lowest prices ever for gas if the price map I seen was correct.

I had a new 96 Geo Metro (yeah.....I know) and I remember it was $8 to fill the tank (yeah it was a 8 gallon tank)

I used to fill my 69 Firebird's tank, if it were empty, for $5.76. It was an 18 gallon tank. Those were the days!

And just think,20/30 years ago all the oil was supposed to be gone by now,the surface of the earth was supposed to be burned to a crisp,or frozen over,or everybody was going to be under 20 feet of water.

Oh and still 2.04/2.05.
