General Digital Cable box question

I currently live in the western new york area and i currently have the basic cable - no box - i have an sdtv right now - considering buying a box for my system - not sure if all boxes work in all areas - i may be moving to the rochester area later in the year - i'm not sure if any box will work in any area...will the box work to access the service i have now, or do i need to subscribe to more services? any help would be appreciated...

In WNY you obviously have Time Warner.

You don't buy your digital box. You get it from the cable company.

You just go to one of their offices and tell them you want a digital box.

Digital cable is $59.99/month for the most basic digital package, plus $7.33/month for the digital box.
