Genie remote Panasonic TV compatibility issue

I had a new Genie installed yesterday and tried to program the remote to turn my Panasonic TV on and off. It failed. I spoke with Directv who indicated that my Genie remote would not work with my TV. Is there a workaround I can use?

ps: My Panasonic TV model # is included in the Genie list.

have you tried saying "i dont know" for the model? usually says trying X of Y codes and i'd bet one will eventually work.

I tried the "I don't know" option a variety of times and that didn't work either.

Panasonic is one of those brands that uses discrete commands and the DIRECTV® remotes uses toggle commands.
