I have the MicroHD working great with a Slingbox 350 (although the 'MicroHD' isn't specifically listed when going thru setup) and am able to control the box with the slingplayer app on my Nexus phone.

Would I be able to remotely control a HDVR1200 with a slingbox?

Since no response to my HDVR1200 q, anybody care to chime in on a suggestion for a receiver with a faster blindscan that works with Slingbox (or any Android app)? I like being able to remotely control the box and blindscan, but I'm looking for something other than another microHD that will be dedicated to my C-band dish.

The HDVR1200 does not have Slingbox remote support. The GEOSATpro old STBs the DSR100/200, DVR1200 and the microHD share the same Slingbox GEOSATpro remote code.

These were the only North American DVBS and S2 with Slingbox support. You can find 3rd party codes for other STBs that are not officially supported, but haven't searched for any Slingbox remote codes recently.

Thanks for answering Brian, I was not sure about the 1200, I knew the remote was different and was almost sure it would not work as is.

is there universal remote for the hdvr1200?

Welcome 777glorystar! :welcomeI don't know how technical you want to get but if you can't find a universal remote that supports the GeoSatPro HDVR1200, you can make one using an older JP1 compatible PC upgradeable remote. With the right software and remote codes these can be upgraded through your PC to support just about any device. Here is a website with a link to the page containing info on how to do it as well as software download links. Clicking the link in the box titled *** JP1 - PC Upgradeable Remotes!!! *** takes you to the section on reprogramming JP1's (http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/). And here is the link to download the file containing the remote codes needed for the GeoSatPro HDVR1200 (http://ww.hifi-remote.com/forums/dl...id=12589&sid=b7baa4a3ddb4015ea9b6e5992a1859a9) I've never done it myself, just one of those useful bits of info I bookmarked for those "just in case" situations. Good luck!:)

Here's a USB cable (http://www.diygadget.com/jp1-1-1-1-2-1-3-cables/jp1-2-1-3-flash-usb-cable-for-universal-remotes.html). As far as a remote, I know radio shack still sells the One For All brand by UEIC but I don't know if the newer ones have a connector built in for JP1 upgrade or even if one can be added.:what2 Here is a list of older remotes and whether or not they had the JP1 series connector. If you use the USB cable listed above you would need to find one in the chart that supports version JP1.2 or JP1.3 (http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.php?title=RemoteChart). If you decide to try it, you might need to acquire one through someplace like eBay if you can't find a new one for sale. Good luck!:) P.S. If you give this a try please post the results for anyone else who might want to give it a try.:)
