Well, I've got plenty of dishes, LNB(F)s, and other pieces/parts... So I guess I'd go for something I DON'T have... Something that could save me plenty of time while out working in the dish farm re-pointing dishes. I'd go with the Trimax 2200 :D ...

Lexium DBS 8000 Receiver
(2) DMX741U LNBF
SG2100 Dish Rotor
SG9120 Motor
FDL4 90cm dish
Trimax SM-2200 satellite meter

Since I can't find the 8' satellite dish on your retail site, I would have to purchase a couple of WS1247 120cm dishes, add a couple of Fortec Star motors and buy a couple of tripods to help make the mounting of them quicker/easier.

Any leftover money would go towards buying some Powermax PMA24 actuators as backups to my current c-band dish actuator arms.

Chaparral Co-Rotor II+. C+Ku Feed with Servo Motor - $129.99
SF99 Signal Finder Kit - $19.99
MatchBox Pro FTA USB Box for Laptop or PC DVB-S - $89.00
SG-9120 HH DiSEqC Satellite Dish Motor - $79.00
POWERMAX PMA24 - 24" Actuator Arm for Large Satellite Dish - $29.99
90cm Motorized Ku Band Satellite Dish - $119
3x4 Multi-Dish Switch - $19.99
Eagle Aspen Diplexer - $4.99
Surge Protector - $7.50
1 RG6/RG59 "F" type connector fittings for Hex Crimp Tool - $0.50

I've got an un-wired B.U.D. sitting out in the back yard just begging me to bring it back to life. I'd go with the following to get started in FTA:

Lexium DBS8000+PVR
DMX741U LNBF
Powermax PMA24 Actuator
PVRG6 Dual BLK Cable
RG6 Coax Stripper
F Connector Compression Crimp Tool
24 F Compression Fittings
6X8 Multi Switch
6 Surge Protectors
SF99 Signal Finder Kit
DMX522 Dual KU LNBF
WS24 Multi LNB Clamp

$500 eh...?

Since I'm up to my neck in C-band dishes...
I'd start with your 1.2m Ku dish package (Package #6) with the SG9120 motor for $325
Add a 2nd SG9120 for an existing 1m Ku dish - $79
And then tack on a Vbox $65
I'm sure the shipping would put me well over $500 after that...

At this time, that Trimax SM-2200 Digital Satellite Signal Meter/Finder looks like the best chioce. However, I would like to not lock myself into something, that when the time came, I could not switch.
My NEED right now is for some better batteries (deep cycle) to charge with my solar panels.

$500 Gift: Trimax SM-2200 Satellite Meter

then I'll buy my first BUD:
240cm WS24095 Dish
DMX741U CKU LNB
Powermax PMA 24 Actuator
V-Box V

10 pcs DMX522 Dual Linear Ku Band LNBF @ $13 each (on sale)
2 pcs Invacom
TWF031 Twin Universal LNBF 0.3dB @ $69 ea
2 pcs Invacom
Invacom QPH031 Quad Polar CPLP LNBF @ $60 ea
2 pcs
WSI C Band LNB Model DMX211 @ $15 ea
1 pc WS1247M 1.2 meter 48" offset Ku dish @ $149
1 pc Powermax PMA24 24" Actuator @ $30 (on sale)
1 pc Perfect Vision RG6 dual cable 1000', white @ $59

Think that comes to $656 - 500 = $156 + shipping.
Some obvious things ... I may already have. ;)

Well I could really use a motorized ku setup so I would go for:

Powermax SG-9120 Motor
WS1247 Dish
and the DMX524U lnb would be nice.

Thanks for the contest. :)
