Hey everyone,

So I got a shipment of about 100 receivers, they vary in makes and models and such...

Here's what my garage looked like when they first showed up:

Give or take, here are the most notable models that arn't totally archaic looking:

General Instruments 2750A
General Instruments 450i Innovation X5
General Instruments Super 350i X 3
Chaparral Monterey Model 50 X2
Echostar SRD-5000
HTS Tracker System VIII Plus
Star Trak 400 X3
Star Trak 6 X2
Toshiba TRX-1800
Toshiba TRX-120 X4
Toshiba TRX-2200
Uniden 4500
Uniden UST-4800 Super X4
Fujitsu Satellite Receiver / VCRS
Panasonic CRD-4500
Zenith IRD

Out of all of that here is what I'm keeping:
Uniden UST-4800 Super -- Brand new in the box, complete with remote.
Toshiba TRX-2200 -- Keeping it because of the amazing display with strength.
General Instruments - 2750R -- Display as well, signal strength on display.
And because I love the analog tuner, I'm keeping a GI 2650R as well.

Can anyone tell me anything about these receivers? I'm working with a Ku system, I have a feeling the first two will help me with tuning? I'm not looking to necessarily pull in a watchable signal with any of these (or won't because they're analog, right?), but just help me tune a signal.. I have DVB/FTA boxes that I use to actually watch the signal...

Thanks guys!

Hmm, or maybe not... Still another pile to go through at my condo now...

Does anyone think any of these have any use?

What are the different colors for? What are they good for?

you're still trying to aim a dish with an analog receiver?

seriously...get a digital receiver (not a PC card)...causes less headaches ;)

The GI boxes would be good ones, the 450's esp. I have a 550 that I got from ebayer about 4yrs ago, it looked brand new, was well kept. Still using it to move my ku-backup system dish.
Excellent features and video (when you can find analog video lol)
The diff colors on the descrambler modules were made at different times, they should have a sticker on the back with the date on them. Some had the RS slot (Videocypher Renewable Security, a slot for a card, in case the VC2 was cracked. The card slot was never used)
What a haul you made there, lol. Didn't get a hundred dishes to go with them didyou?

remotes are good :)
i too like the GI line of 350, 450 ,550 & 650 they were good boxes

most of them will probably be good movers , and receive what few analog channels are up there but as for worth well i've seen them go for just a little cause shipping is usually high for these heavy boxes. ( i wouldn't invest a lot of money in them cause it will be hard to recover)

i agree with Ice of course analog is easy to tune but tuning with a lets say coolsat 5000 is also easy once you get the hang of it . i wouldn't be without one when i'm tuning dishes :)
