"Important Update on Gray Media-Owned Local Channels
Gray Media has blocked access to its local channels on our service instead of continuing to work toward a fair agreement. To help prevent any service disruption, we offered Gray Media a temporary contract extension while negotiations continued, but they declined. We remain actively engaged in discussions and are committed to restoring your channels as soon as possible.
Gray Media is using its market power to push for unreasonable demands that would significantly increase the cost of carrying their channels. As one of the largest broadcasters in the country, Gray Media owns more than 150 ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX stations, reaching nearly 40% of U.S. households. They are now demanding more than $100 million in additional fees for the same channels you receive today.
In addition, Gray Media introduced last-minute demands for stations they have not yet acquired, which has further complicated negotiations and delayed a resolution for our customers.
Rising fees from broadcasters like Gray Media make it increasingly difficult to keep TV service affordable. We believe these demands are unsustainable and unfair to our customers.
We remain committed to standing up for you and working to secure fair rates that help ensure the best possible value. Thank you for your patience and support while we work to resolve this matter."
