Yes it's true.
Finally my rebate showed up on the tracker webpage, but the zip code was wrong.
I wrote ceo@echostar an email explaining this and I was concerned the rebate would be hosed forever. I received an reply the same day asking for a few details and the rebate was taken care of on the spot.

There is a Santa Claus....
 
Forgot that I had a $100 coming for the 622 I got several months ago so I looked up the rebate on the tracker website. They have my area code wrong on my phone number but my address is correct and the rebate is in the system. I may email ceo@echostar.com also and get it fixed.
