I called DTV and asked for the conversion to MPEG4. I currently had a H-10 receiver and a H10-250 Tivo along with a sd rtivo and 2 other sd receivers.
I had been a customer since day 1 in 1994 and wanted the new equipment.
DTV rep told me no problem, h20 swapout free, and as soon as the MPEG4 dvr was available it would swap at no charge also. As for the dish it was a 99 dollar charge but she immediatly offered and gave me a 99 dollar credit without me even saying anything. Also no shipping charges.
The install was set for today, The installer showed, put up the new at9 dish (it is big) and gave me a new H-20 box. I was told by DTV that they would take the old dish and old H-10 receiver because of the swap, and also a 2 year agreement was needed.
Long story short I got to keep my old H-10 and 3-LNB dish, got a new AT9 dish and new H-20 box and only a 1 year comitment.
Just wanted to share this with everyone let you know what I received, and to see what others received as well.
I live in the Tampa, Florida market.
