I have PTAT enable with no rentals or other programs recorded on one of my hoppers.

My DVR screen indicates that " Your Hard Drive is 26% Full with 0 Recordings"

Does the 26% represent the PTAT recording space?

Thanks,

Bob

There is 1231GB of user space, 231GB of which can be occupied by PTAT. That's about 18-19%. Not sure where the other 10% went. Try waiting for updates to clear it out.

Yeah I'm not sure how they deal with the deletes. I do know that it will delete them first if you are running out of space. I seem to recall that it would make the percentage drop when you "delete" things even if they were still in the deleted recordings. Maybe they changed that in a more recent software update. I'll have to check that out next chance I get.

Since they added the Recycle Bin, the recordings are not "deleted" fully until they get wiped from the Recycle Bin. This allows someone who accidentally deletes a recording an opportunity to restore back to the user space if they wanted to.

I just did a little test. One of my Hoppers says DVR is 24% full with 6 recordings. I deleted 2 one hour non PTAT HD satellite programs and the DVR still says 24% full with 4 recordings.

Looks like they changed that behavior then. A few softwares ago I witnessed the percentage dropping.
