I am a former Directv customer who has moved into a multifamily dwelling in which Comcast Basic is provided to all, but there is no provision for individually subscribing to premium channels. I would like to get HBO through DirecTV. I have my own receiver from my previous subscription as well as the old (now obsolete) access card, and since I do commercial service myself, I have brand new access cards available as well, and of course will be doing my own installation.

Is there any way that I can arrange to pay just a connectivity or account fee plus the HBO fee, or would I be forced to buy DirecTV's $29.99 package as well? Last time I checked, I thought that DISH Network would let someone pay a small connectivity fee and subscribe a la carte, but DirecTV's satellite is higher in the sky where I am (42 deg v 28 deg) so it is more immune to rainfade.
